V2V Migration with Full VM Restore

If your Vinchin Backup & Recovery has V2V Migration feature licensed, and has one or more different virtual platforms (different than the source virtualization where the backups had been taken) connected, when creating a full VM restore job, you can directly select a different virtualization platform as the restore destination. So the process of creating a V2V migration job is actually creating a full VM restore job, the key difference is selecting a different virtualization as the restore target.

To create a full VM restore job for V2V migration, please go to VM Backup > Restore > Full Restore page, in step 1 of the New VM Restore Job wizard, please select the restore point(s) of the VM(s) which you wish to migrate. If you haven't done any backup of the source VMs, please create backup jobs to backup the source VMs at first place.

In step 2, please select the target virtualization on which you wish the VM(s) to be migrated to, for more information of the rest job settings please refer VM Backup & Restore corresponding to the target virtualization full VM restore instructions.

After the job is completed, the selected VM(s) will be migrated to the target virtualization platform.
