Create Server Restore Job

To create a new server recovery job, please go to Data Resilience > Restore > Server> Restore page. Please follow the below steps to create the job.

Data Source

From the Restore Point dropdown list, select a backup node on which the server backup data is stored.

Then select desired time point and click on Next. The restore point can be time point, cache flushing point, virus scan point, data verification point. You can manually select the recover time point from the cdp job running time range.

Restore Destination

There's two target type Server Restore and Data volume recovery

For Server Restore, you can do driver check for the target vm. This method only support vm boot from LiveCD ISO and you can download it in.

For Data volume recovery only support vm boot from the disk.

For Target Volume, perform the restoration operation on a disk basis, which allows for the exclusion of certain partitions within the disk when conducting the restoration process.

For Network Settings, you can enable it and reconfigure the network information of the target machine.

For Script Configuration, you can set the script to be executed after stopping.

Restore Strategy

Throttling Policy

You can ser start time and schedule manually for the restore job.

Transmission Strategy

By enabling Encrypted Transfer, the transmission path between the physical server and Vinchin backup server will be encrypted to guarantee you data safety during backup process.

By enabling Source-side compression, can select compress level before the data transmission.

By changing Transfer Threads, you can define 1 to 8 transfer threads for a single server job to implement multithreaded transmission.

Packet Size is recommend to set based on network bandwidth, the two are in a direct proportional relationship.

Review and Confirm

After finishing the above settings, you are able to review and confirm all settings here. Click on Submit to confirm creating this job. When the job is created, you will be redirected to the Monitor Center > Jobs page. If this restore job is configured as Start Immediately, it will start restoring right after the creation of this job.
